Osher Rainforest (California Academy of Sciences)

The California Academy of Sciences, located in San Francisco, CA, holds the Osher Rainforest. The Osher Rainforest is a four-story glass dome that houses exotic plants, animals, butterflies, and marine life. It is the largest of its kind in the world. Kessil partnered with the Cal Academy to provide lighting for multiple plant exhibits within the glass dome. With such a variety of plant life, Kessil curated unique lighting solutions for each exhibit to mimic actual rainforest conditions and promote healthy growth. With rare, fragile butterflies also inhabiting the interior rainforest, Kessil lights were the perfect solution to provide the correct growth spectrum for the plants while being safe for the other wildlife cohabitating in the space.
