Georgia Aquarium Wetlands

Wet or Dry, Lighting To Match Seasonal Changes

The Wetland exhibits replicate seasonal changes in ponds, streams, and rivers. They provide two distinct lighting regimes for varying water levels. As the season changes, the river and stream exhibit floods with water, changing the depths substantially. The pond exhibit also require intense lighting to support a large living wall and flowering lilies.
To achieve these goals, W2KB, W500BD and W500W LED fixtures were selected. The W2KB 50-degree reflector provides ideal lighting conditions for the living ecosystem on the surface and below the water. The W500W and W500BD provides the lighting spread and intensity needed for plant growth of the thick forest living wall behind the bodies of water. The compact Kessil LED arrays and reflector options ensure a stronger beam of light for the demanding and variable depths of these exhibits.
